Well, it took a couple of days.

I, for some reason, had the mad idea that Wordpress was not good enough for me. I therefore had the bright idea of making my own blog replicating all its features. It has been harder than I thought it would be. There are some things, like comments, I have still not yet added in (but you can't complain about it! ha!) but I am roughly there now. The styling of the site itself took enough time.

There were plenty of difficulties, each worth a good post when I get round to it: working out how to have blog titles with any character (including /, _, è, etc.) given php’s lack of unicode support is a good example. I’ll maybe put up my solution here at some point.
